After a prosperous success of Poco F1, Pocophone launched the successor in the F series – the Poco F2 Pro. The Poco F1 proved to be the best example of a Flagship Killer. With high-end specs and features, the phone was pretty affordable. Similarly, the Poco F2 Pro is a mid-ranger device based on Redmi K30.
When compared to the prequel, Poco F2 Pro doesn’t come with loads of changes and/or improvements. However, there is a lot that you need to know about this launch. Not just the latest Snapdragon 865 chipset, it has a lot more than that to amaze you.
Poco F2 Pro: Specs and Features
Display: Let’s start with the outer look and feel of the phone. The Poco F2 Pro comes in four different colour options viz., Neon Blue, Cyber Grey, Phantom White and Electric Purple. The display installed is a 6.67” Super AMOLED panel with HDR+ support. This means the as a user, you can expect a boost in image quality of the display. AMOLED panel helped the OEM to fit in the fingerprint scanner under the display.
The phone has a 92.7% screen to body ratio with a maximum of 1200 nits of brightness. The refresh rate of the display is set at 60Hz by default. However, the sampling rate has been measured up to 180Hz. The phone has been certified under the L1 certification, i.e. you can play content from popular OTT platforms in HD.
Chipset: Talking about the chipset, Pocophone has installed the most powerful chipset from Qualcomm – Snapdragon 865. This is the only chipset available to date to feature updateable GPU drivers. This will probably take care of the longevity of the device.
Storage: Poco F2 Pro comes with a UFS 3.1 storage whereas the Poco F1 had the UFS 2.1 storage. This is a significant upgrade for the storage making the phone work even smoother. The storage options start with 128GB variant, that is two times more than what the prequel offered. By using the UFS 3.1, the OEM has ditched the MicroSD slot.
Camera: Talking about the camera options, the rear camera is the quad-camera setup. The primary lens has a 1/1.72” sensor with the 64MP resolution. The other three lenses are comprised of a 123° ultra-wide-angle camera with 13MP resolution, a tele macro camera with AF of 3 to 7 cms at 5MP resolution and a depth sensor with AI portrait mode at 2MP resolution.
The front camera is a 20MP pop-up camera that can be used to capture astonishing shots with ease. The chipset enables 8K recording at 30fps. However, you might need a 256GB variant to record with such high quality to store large video files. Apart from that, the 4K videos can be recorded at 60fps at ease.
Bluetooth & Connectivity: The phone comes with Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX HD. However, the 3.5 headphone jack is still there to put a smile on your face. Thus, either way, you will be happy while listening to your favourite music.
Liquid Cool 2.0: The Poco F2 Pro comes with the Liquid Cool Tech 2.0. It has got three layers viz., the graphite, the graphene and the Super VC. The OEM claims the vapour chamber to be larger than the other phones in the same segment. This was done so as to enable better and efficient cooling.
Battery: The device comes with a whopping 4700 mAh battery supported by a 30W fast charger. The charger is accompanied with the box of the phone.
